Andy Wayne Alexander, a 48-year-old resident of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for wire fraud. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
Alexander faced charges on December 19, 2024, related to wire fraud activities that took place from July 2020 through May 2022. According to the Information filed against him, Alexander used Facebook Marketplace to advertise classic cars for sale that he did not own or possess at the time of posting. During this period, at least seven buyers wired a total of approximately $290,925 into an account controlled by Alexander for vehicles he never intended to deliver. Despite reassurances from Alexander, no refunds were issued. One victim traveled from New Zealand to Oklahoma after a failed vehicle purchase and discovered that Alexander did not have the car he claimed to sell.
On January 13, 2025, Alexander pleaded guilty and admitted responsibility for causing several individuals to send money via wire transfer for undelivered vehicles and failing to refund those payments.
During the sentencing hearing held on April 29, 2025, U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton imposed a sentence of 33 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. Additionally, Judge Heaton ordered Alexander to pay restitution amounting to $303,620.00. In his remarks during sentencing, Judge Heaton highlighted the gravity of the offense.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI Oklahoma City Field Office with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Danielle London and Cole McFerren prosecuting the case.
