Fresh & Ready Foods has initiated a voluntary recall of certain ready-to-eat sandwiches and snack items distributed in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Washington. The recall is due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products were available in vending and breakroom areas within corporate offices, medical buildings, and healthcare facilities from April 18 to April 28, 2025. The recall specifically targets products with "Use By" dates ranging from April 22 to May 19, 2025.
The issue was discovered through environmental monitoring by the FDA during a site inspection that detected Listeria monocytogenes on equipment. Fresh & Ready Foods responded by removing the equipment and taking corrective actions to ensure food safety and compliance with FDA guidelines.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe infections in vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. It may lead to serious symptoms including high fever and abdominal pain in healthy individuals and can result in miscarriages or stillbirths among pregnant women.
No illnesses have been reported related to the recalled products; however, Fresh & Ready Foods is proceeding with this measure as a precautionary step for consumer safety. Consumers are advised to check the "Use By" date printed on product packaging below the "Net Weight." Any remaining product should be discarded immediately.
For questions or refunds, consumers can contact Fresh & Ready Foods at RecallConcern@HotLineGlobal.com or call 1-855-424-8390 from Monday through Friday between 5:00 am and 3:00 pm PST. This recall is conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
