Today, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau greeted the first group of Afrikaner refugees arriving in the United States. This initiative is directed by Secretary Rubio and aligns with President Trump's directive to prioritize the resettlement of this vulnerable group, who are experiencing racial discrimination in South Africa.
The United States' action is part of its "America First" foreign policy agenda, emphasizing protection for victims of racial discrimination. The administration aims to support these refugees as they seek a better future in the U.S.
"No one should have to fear having their property seized without compensation or becoming the victim of violent attacks because of their ethnicity," stated Landau. He affirmed that more Afrikaner refugees would be welcomed in the coming months, with efforts focused on helping them rebuild their lives in America.
