A Mexican national, Francisco Torres-Ambrocio, has been sentenced for illegally reentering the United States after previous deportations. The sentence was handed down on May 8, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama.

Court documents reveal that Torres-Ambrocio, aged 46, was stopped by United States Border Patrol agents during a traffic stop. It was discovered that he had been deported twice in 2016 and had prior convictions for illegal entry in 2016 and DUI in 2009.

Judge DuBose sentenced Torres-Ambrocio to time served and imposed a one-year term of supervised release upon his future release. He had been held since his arrest on March 4, 2025. Following his prison release, Torres-Ambrocio will be referred to immigration officials for deportation proceedings. Additionally, he has been ordered to pay $100 in special assessments.

The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama.

The case was investigated by the United States Border Patrol and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jimmy L. Thomas.

This case falls under Operation Take Back America, an initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration and combating cartels and transnational criminal organizations while safeguarding communities from violent crime perpetrators.
