The Pentagon has announced the implementation of a policy focusing on military excellence and readiness, following a Supreme Court order that allows the Department of Defense to enforce its policies. Chief Pentagon Spokesman and Senior Advisor Sean Parnell confirmed this development.

"The Secretary is encouraged by the Supreme Court's order staying the lower court's injunction, allowing the Department of Defense to carry out its policies associated with 'Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness,'" stated Parnell.

As part of this policy, new guidance will be issued to military departments and services. This guidance ends the accession of individuals diagnosed with gender dysphoria or those showing symptoms consistent with it. It also halts all non-medically necessary treatment related to gender dysphoria.

Approximately 1,000 service members who have self-identified as having been diagnosed with gender dysphoria will start a voluntary separation process. The Department will extend this period for active component service members by 30 days and for reserve component service members by 60 days before proceeding with involuntary separations if necessary.
