Buffalo man pleads guilty to firearm charge linked to drug trafficking

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Donta Williams, a 30-year-old resident of Buffalo, New York, has pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara and carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment and a fine of up to $250,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey E. Intravatola is handling the case. He reported that on November 13, 2024, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Comstock Avenue used by Williams for drug trafficking activities. During the search, authorities seized various items including $1,030 in cash, a receipt for a Rolex sold to "Donta Williams," a Glock pistol with ammunition, jewelry, crack cocaine and fentanyl, as well as drug paraphernalia.

A second search warrant was carried out later that day on a UHAUL unit controlled by Williams. This led to the seizure of an additional $29,627 in cash and a loaded magazine.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia and the Buffalo Police Department led by Commissioner Alfonse Wright.

Sentencing for Donta Williams is set for September 18, 2025, before Judge Arcara.
