A federal grand jury in Wichita has indicted a Colorado man on charges related to drug trafficking and firearms offenses. Russell Scott IV, 37, from Denver, faces charges including possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is leading the investigation into this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ola Odeyemi will be prosecuting.
In related proceedings, several other individuals have been indicted on various charges. Chase Boyd, 39, from Wichita, was charged with two counts of possession of firearms and ammunition by a prohibited person. The ATF is also handling this investigation with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart overseeing prosecution.
Jose Galan-Andrade and Jose Louis Gonzalez-Gonzalez face charges for illegal reentry after deportation. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is investigating these cases with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Molly Gordon and Ola Odeyemi prosecuting respectively.
Darius Isaiah Jackson, 25, from Wichita has been indicted for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. This case is under the investigation of the ATF with prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ola Odeyemi.
Greggory K. O’Neal from Wichita faces an indictment for methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute. The ATF along with Park City Kansas Police Department are conducting investigations here while Assistant U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch handles prosecution.
Lastly, Guadalupe Rios-Edeza was indicted on one count of illegal reentry after deportation with ICE leading the investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Ola Odeyemi prosecuting.
It should be noted that an indictment is merely an allegation; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
