The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced the sentencing of Jeffery Scott Pinkston, a 40-year-old resident of Hugo, Oklahoma. Pinkston received a 37-month prison sentence for possessing material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation leading to Pinkston's conviction was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. On November 14, 2024, Pinkston pleaded guilty to knowingly possessing visual depictions of a minor under the age of 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The offenses occurred between November 2022 and June 2024.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. The project aims to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse by utilizing federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and rescue victims. The sentencing hearing was presided over by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Pinkston will remain in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service until he is transported to a designated Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
