Senate HELP Committee to review labor and education nominees

The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee is set to evaluate several nominations next week. The session will take place on Thursday, May 22. Nominees under consideration include candidates for roles within the Department of Labor, the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission, and the Department of Education.

Julie Hocker has been nominated to serve as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Office of Disability Employment Policy at the Department of Labor. Marco Rajkovich is being considered for Commissioner of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission. Wayne Palmer is nominated for Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health.

Other nominees include Henry Mack III for Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Employment and Training Administration at the Department of Labor. In education, Kirsten Baesler is nominated to serve as Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education at the Department of Education. Kevin O’Farrell is up for Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education. Nicholas Kent is nominated to be Under Secretary of Education.
