A Dominican national has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Boston for reentering the United States illegally after being deported. Keilyn Adolfo Rivera, 45, faces one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien.
According to the charging documents, Rivera was discovered in the United States on or about February 2, 2025, despite having been deported to the Dominican Republic around March 6, 2015.
The charge carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine that could reach $250,000. Upon completing any sentence imposed, Rivera would be subject to deportation. Sentences are determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren Maynard from the Major Crimes Unit is handling the prosecution.
It is important to note that the details within the charging documents are allegations at this stage. The defendant remains presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
