AIA President and CEO Eric Fanning has called on the House of Representatives to approve a reconciliation package aimed at enhancing America's defense industrial base and modernizing the air traffic control system. The proposed package includes $100 billion in investments, targeting advancements in defense technology and safety measures in aviation.
Fanning emphasized the importance of this package, stating: “The final reconciliation package is a powerful boost to America’s defense, aviation, and manufacturing strength. With $100 billion in investment for the defense industrial base, additional funding to modernize America’s air traffic control system, and a return to pro-America tax policies like immediate R&D expensing, it ensures our warfighters stay equipped with cutting-edge technology while supporting safety, innovation, and job creation across the aerospace sector.”
He further urged legislative action by saying: "The Aerospace Industries Association urges the House of Representatives to advance this legislation, and we look forward to partnering with Congress as the bill continues to progress."
