David X. Sullivan, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, along with P.J. O’Brien, Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has announced that Elijah Whyte, a 30-year-old former resident of White Plains, New York, has pleaded guilty to charges related to harassing and threatening communications. This plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport on May 16, 2025.
Court documents reveal that between August and October 2023, Whyte sent a total of 1,330 text messages and made 72 phone calls to a Connecticut resident. Additionally, he left three voicemail messages. Many of these communications contained threats and harassment involving violence against the victim and references to their children and home.
Whyte admitted guilt to making repeated harassing telephone communications. This offense could result in a maximum prison sentence of two years. His sentencing is scheduled for August 8.
Elijah Whyte has been held in detention since October 2023.
The case is under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel George.
