ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

A Kansas woman appeared in federal court following a grand jury indictment accusing her of distributing child sexual abuse materials. According to court documents, Addilynn Jean Onuffer, 23, from Haysville, faces three counts of distribution of child pornography for alleged activities between June and July 2024.

The defendant's initial court appearance was before U.S. Magistrate Judge Brooks Severson at the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. The case is under investigation by the Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC) and Wichita Police Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Molly Gordon is handling the prosecution.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to utilize federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute individuals exploiting children online while identifying and rescuing victims.

It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
