A Browning woman has been sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison, followed by two years of supervised release, for an assault that resulted in serious bodily injury. U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme announced the sentencing.
Autumn Rose Rider, aged 30, pleaded guilty to the charge in January 2025. The case was overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris.
Court documents revealed that on July 24, 2022, Rider assaulted a woman identified as Jane Doe from behind while she was getting back into a car after being driven to a residence in Browning by Rider's father. The attack caused significant injuries to Jane Doe's eye and face, necessitating treatment at Kalispell Regional Hospital.
The U.S. Attorney's Office handled the prosecution of this case with assistance from an investigation conducted by the FBI.
