Missouri man sentenced for transporting minor across state lines for sex

A Missouri man has been sentenced to 230 months in prison for transporting a minor across state lines for sexual purposes. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey.

Scott M. Arnold-Micke, aged 48 and from Rolla, Missouri, admitted to meeting the 17-year-old victim in 2021 and taking him to Chicago. During their time there, they used drugs and engaged in sexual activities. Arnold-Micke continued drug use with the victim almost daily after moving from Sullivan, Missouri to Rolla.

In January, Arnold-Micke pleaded guilty to one count of transportation of a minor to engage in a criminal sex act.

The FBI and the Rolla Police Department led the investigation with support from the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dianna Edwards prosecuted the case.

“The FBI is unrelenting when it comes to protecting children,” stated Chris Crocker, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI St. Louis Division. “I commend those who brought this crime to light in order to get this child predator off the streets and in prison where he belongs.”

This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. It coordinates federal, state, and local resources for locating and prosecuting individuals exploiting children via the Internet while also identifying and rescuing victims.
