Bedner Growers, Inc., based in Boynton Beach, Florida, has initiated a voluntary recall of cucumbers sold at Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market from April 29 to May 14, 2025. The recall is due to potential contamination with Salmonella, which can cause serious infections in vulnerable populations such as young children and the elderly. Healthy individuals infected with Salmonella may experience symptoms like fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In some cases, the infection can lead to more severe illnesses.
The cucumbers were available at three Bedner’s Farm Fresh Markets locations in Florida: Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach. Since the recalled cucumbers lack identifying stickers or labels, customers are advised to discard any cucumbers purchased during the specified period.
Additionally, these cucumbers were distributed to a wholesale distributor instructed to notify its customers about the recall procedures.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has linked these cucumbers to a Salmonella outbreak that has resulted in 26 reported illnesses across several states including Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Cucumbers currently available for sale at Bedner’s Farm Fresh Markets after May 14 are not included in this recall. These products were not grown by Bedner Growers as their cucumber production season has ended.
For further information regarding the recalled products consumers can contact Bedner Growers at 866-222-9180 during business hours from Monday to Friday.
This recall is being conducted in coordination with the FDA.
