The Department of State has announced two new determinations with sanctions implications under Section 1245 of the Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act of 2012. These findings highlight Iran's construction sector as being under the control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Additionally, ten strategic materials have been identified that Iran is utilizing in its nuclear, military, or ballistic missile programs.

These determinations grant the United States expanded sanctions authority aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining strategic materials for its construction sector controlled by the IRGC and its proliferation activities.
