U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has been recognized as a 2025 Top Employer for Military Spouses by Military.com, a leading news and information platform for U.S. service members, veterans, and their families. This accolade follows CBP's earlier recognition as a 2025 Top Employer for Veterans, making it the only federal agency to receive both honors this year.

CBP engages in various initiatives to hire transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses. The agency is part of the Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment Partnership which offers resume writing advice, job search tips, and interviewing skills to military spouses applying for positions at CBP. Additionally, CBP participates in DoD’s SkillBridge and the Department of Veterans Affairs' Non-Paid Work Experience programs aimed at providing training and work experience that can lead to permanent roles within the agency.
Recruitment efforts include attending military conferences to promote job opportunities, advertising on platforms focused on military audiences, and conducting outreach activities at military installations nationwide.
The Veteran Support Program at CBP aids employees from military backgrounds by assisting with benefit processes through events with the Department of Veterans Affairs and community partners. It also supports career transitions throughout their service careers. Family outreach events and benefit enrollment sessions are organized to ensure that families are informed about available resources connected to their loved ones’ service and employment with CBP.
