Senate HELP Committee reviews Trump’s labor and education nominees

On May 22, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee will evaluate several nominations for positions within the Department of Labor, the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission, and the Department of Education.

The agenda includes the nomination of Julie Hocker as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Office of Disability Employment Policy. Marco Rajkovich is nominated to serve as Commissioner of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission. Wayne Palmer is up for Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health. Henry Mack III is nominated as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Employment and Training Administration.

In education-related roles, Kirsten Baesler is nominated as Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education. Kevin O’Farrell is considered for Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education. Nicholas Kent is nominated to be Under Secretary of Education.

The meeting will take place on Thursday at 11:45 AM ET in S-216 Capitol, also known as the President’s Room. Due to limited space, attendees are encouraged to RSVP promptly through their respective press galleries.
