U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Port of Buffalo, Peace Bridge border crossing, have arrested two U.S. citizens for possession of narcotics and an illegal firearm. The incident occurred on May 21 when a vehicle driven by Todd Stubbs, a 36-year-old male from Mississippi, and Brianda Salgado, a 35-year-old female from Arizona, was stopped for further inspection due to incomplete travel documents.

During the inspection, the travelers disclosed that a firearm was stored in the glove box. Officers found a Beretta 950 BS with ammunition and marijuana. Further searches revealed cocaine and ecstasy on their persons. In total, CBP seized 8.3 grams of cocaine, 12 ecstasy pills, and approximately 100 grams of marijuana.

Buffalo Port Director Gaetano Cordone commented on the arrests: "Our dedicated and vigilant officers continue to intercept criminal activity to keep our communities and country safe. Their skills, experience and knowledge, along with our strong relationships with local law enforcement, have led to continued success."

Stubbs and Salgado were taken into custody by CBP officers before being handed over to the Buffalo Police Department to face felony charges related to weapon and narcotics possession.

CBP describes itself as America's frontline in law enforcement with over 65,000 personnel tasked with protecting national security through various means including innovation and collaboration.
