Coventry man faces federal indictment for fentanyl trafficking

A federal grand jury has indicted Christian Rodriguez, 38, of Coventry, on charges related to fentanyl trafficking. Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom announced the two-count indictment, which includes possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.

Court information suggests that Rodriguez was part of a drug trafficking organization operating from a stash house in Providence. This group allegedly supplied buyers in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Rodriguez was arrested on April 22, 2025. During court-authorized searches of his Coventry residence and another location in Providence, law enforcement seized over $100,000 in cash, more than 40 grams of fentanyl, cocaine, and various items used for packaging illegal drugs.

Currently detained in federal custody, Rodriguez is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stacey A. Erickson and was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
