A Venezuelan national residing in Perrysburg, Ohio, has been charged with multiple offenses related to firearm possession and false statements. Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, 24, faces allegations of lying on immigration forms and during the purchase of a firearm.
The charges include possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the United States, making false statements during the purchase of a firearm, and using false documents. According to the criminal complaint and affidavit, Labrador-Sierra was reported by Perrysburg Schools for allegedly enrolling under false pretenses as a student at Perrysburg High School. It is further alleged that he provided false information to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regarding his date of birth when applying for Temporary Protective Status and Employment Authorization Documents in 2024 and 2025.
The complaint also states that Labrador-Sierra does not have lawful status to purchase or possess a firearm in the United States. He is accused of submitting false information on ATF Form 4473 when purchasing a Taurus 9mm semiautomatic pistol from a licensed firearms dealer, including falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen or national.
If convicted, Labrador-Sierra could face up to 15 years in prison for possession of a firearm by an alien; 10 years for making false statements during the purchase; and up to five years for using false documents.
The investigation involves multiple agencies: City of Perrysburg Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol Detroit Sector−Sandusky Bay Station, FBI Toledo Field Office, ATF, with support from Wood County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecution is led by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert Melching and Tracey Tangeman for the Northern District of Ohio along with Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Dobson.
