The company initiated the recall after receiving information that these cucumber slices might include whole cucumbers recalled by Bedner Growers, Inc., following a notification from the US Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") about associated salmonellosis illnesses.
Salmonella can lead to severe infections, especially in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms often include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. More serious conditions can occur if the infection spreads to the bloodstream.
No illnesses have been reported related to the Marketside Fresh Cut Cucumber Slices at this time. These products were produced between May 13th and May 20th, 2025.
Consumers are advised to check if they possess any of the recalled cucumber slices and should not consume them. Surfaces that may have come into contact with the product should be cleaned and sanitized to prevent cross-contamination. Affected products should be discarded or returned for a refund.
