JFE Franchising recalls cucumber products over possible Salmonella risk

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

JFE Franchising, Inc. has announced a recall of certain fresh-cut cucumber items and sushi products due to potential Salmonella contamination. The company, based in Houston, Texas, made the decision following a recall issued by Bedner Growers, Inc., which supplied the cucumbers used in these products.

Salmonella can cause severe infections, particularly in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Although no illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported regarding these specific products to date, JFE Franchising is taking precautionary measures to ensure consumer safety.

The recall affects items sold under the SNOWFRUIT or SNOWFOX labels at various retail locations including Kroger, Roundy’s (Pick n Save and Metro Market), and Weis Market across several states. Products were distributed in Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and New York.

The recalled items include various salads and vegetable trays packaged in plastic containers with specific product codes. Consumers are advised to check product labels for identification of affected items.

Customers who purchased these products are urged not to consume them but instead return them for a full refund or dispose of them safely. Inquiries can be directed to hello@snowfruit.com or hello@snowfox.com during business hours from Monday through Friday.

JFE Franchising emphasizes its commitment to resolving this issue promptly and maintaining consumer safety as a top priority.
