West Virginia man sentenced to over nine years for drug charges

Darrel Keith McHoney, a 55-year-old resident of Fairmont, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 110 months in federal prison. The sentence was handed down for his involvement in selling para-fluorofentanyl in Marion and Harrison Counties.

Court documents reveal that McHoney engaged in the sale of para-fluorofentanyl and heroin. During a search of his residence, authorities confiscated over 100 grams of para-fluorofentanyl, a loaded firearm magazine, and drug paraphernalia. McHoney's criminal record includes previous offenses such as attempted robbery and drug trafficking.

Following his prison term, McHoney will be subject to three years of supervised release.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Cogar on behalf of the government. The investigation was conducted by the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, which is funded by HIDTA.

Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the proceedings.
