Michele Beckwith Acting U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California
Henry Joseph Garcia, a 49-year-old resident of Fresno, has been indicted on charges related to drug trafficking and firearm possession. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith.
Court documents reveal that on May 13, 2025, Garcia was found in possession of over 400 grams of a substance containing fentanyl with the intent to distribute it. Additionally, he had two loaded firearms in connection with the alleged drug trafficking activities.
The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Clovis Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Calvin Lee.
If convicted, Garcia could face a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life imprisonment along with a $10 million fine. However, any final sentence will be determined by the court based on statutory factors and Federal Sentencing Guidelines which consider various aspects of the case. It is important to note that these charges are allegations at this stage; Garcia remains presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
