By the authority vested in the President by U.S. laws, and in line with section 251A of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act, as amended, a sequestration order has been issued. The order mandates that on October 1, 2025, direct spending budgetary resources for fiscal year 2026 in each non-exempt budget account be reduced by the amount calculated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in its report to Congress dated May 30, 2025.
The sequestrations will be executed following section 251A of the Act and based on OMB's report specifications from May 30, 2025.
The White House announced this directive on May 30, 2025.
