ICE deports 142 criminal aliens from Houston area to Mexico

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported 142 criminal aliens from the Houston area to Mexico over the past two weeks. These individuals have illegally entered the United States a total of 480 times and have been convicted of 473 criminal offenses. Among those deported between May 19 and May 30 were eight documented gang members, 11 convicted child predators, and one individual who had illegally entered the U.S. 21 times.

Bret Bradford, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Houston Field Office Director, commented on the situation: “Unfortunately, this is not an anomaly. For the past few years, there was virtually no deterrent to illegally entering the country. As a result, millions of illegal aliens poured into the country including violent criminal aliens, child predators, transnational gang members and foreign fugitives. Many of these dangerous criminal aliens went on to prey on law-abiding residents in local communities right here in Southeast Texas and we’re laser focused on identifying them and removing them from the country before they harm anyone else. This is just a small snapshot of those efforts as it only focuses on deportations to one country over the course of a two-week period, but it gives you an idea of how big this problem really is.”

Among those deported were Inocencio Juan Bustamante-Rodriguez, who entered the U.S. illegally 16 times; Luis Angel Garcia-Contreras, a documented Surenos 13 gang member with 21 illegal entries; Cesar Daniel Lobato Perez, convicted of arson among other charges; Elias Magana Aguilar with convictions for trespassing and deadly conduct; Marco Antonio Salazar-Rojas with convictions for human smuggling; Jose Antonio Mauricio-Rodriquez, a documented Paisas gang member; Benito Charqueno Zavala and Johnny Urbina Carillo, both convicted child predators; Jorge Arturo Silva-Solano with multiple aggravated assault convictions; and Alejandro Aguilar Vazquez with numerous illegal entries.

The deported individuals were convicted of various crimes including child sex offenses (11 convictions), DWI (76), burglary or theft-related offenses (30), weapons offenses (21), domestic violence-related convictions (43), drug trafficking or possession-related offenses (48), human trafficking or smuggling (22), illegal entry or reentry (99), resisting arrest or evading arrest-related offenses (26), fraud or extortion-related offenses (14), trespassing or criminal mischief (10), property crime offenses (3), hit-and-run (4), animal cruelty (3), child cruelty (3), organized crime engagement (1), money laundering (1), making terroristic threats (1) and miscellaneous public order crimes.
