The Advancing Lifesaving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) group, comprising several governments and international organizations, has issued a statement condemning a recent attack on a United Nations humanitarian convoy in Sudan. The coalition includes the United States, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, the African Union, and the United Nations.

"The ALPS coalition strongly condemns the recent attack on a United Nations humanitarian convoy, which resulted in the death of humanitarian personnel and the destruction of life-saving aid," read part of their joint statement.

The statement expressed condolences to those affected by the incident: "We extend our deepest condolences to the families, colleagues, and communities of those who were killed while working to assist others in desperate need."

Highlighting concerns over violations of international law, it stated: "Attacks directed against civilians and civilian objects, including humanitarian personnel and assets, are serious violations of international humanitarian law."

Given worsening conditions in Sudan and increasing humanitarian needs, ALPS stressed that all parties must adhere to international law. They emphasized protecting civilians and facilitating access for aid workers: "With the situation in Sudan worsening...the ALPS coalition urgently reiterates that international humanitarian law must be fully respected. This includes obligations to protect civilians... We call on parties to allow and facilitate humanitarian access to all those in need."
