Rock Hill man receives 15-year sentence for fentanyl distribution

Justin Lee Payne, a 31-year-old resident of Rock Hill, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison following his guilty plea for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

According to evidence from the investigation, Payne was apprehended by York County sheriff’s deputies on charges of trafficking fentanyl. During his arrest, a search warrant executed at his residence uncovered over 280 grams of fentanyl and 4 grams of methamphetamine.

United States District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis handed down the sentence of 180 months imprisonment. This will be followed by a four-year term of court-ordered supervision. It is important to note that there is no parole available in the federal system.

The case was investigated by the York County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Unit and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Winston D. Holliday.
