New Orleans man sentenced for major drug distribution conspiracy

William Lang, a 47-year-old resident of New Orleans, has been sentenced for his involvement in a drug distribution conspiracy. United States District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo sentenced Lang on May 28, 2025, after he pleaded guilty to charges related to the distribution and possession with intent to distribute significant quantities of cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. Lang received a sentence of 120 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.

Court documents revealed that Lang and his co-conspirators were involved in distributing multi-kilogram amounts of these drugs within the Eastern District of Louisiana.

This case is part of an investigation by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), which aims to target high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations threatening the United States. The task force uses a collaborative approach involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration's New Orleans Field Division Office with assistance from several other agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Border Patrol, Gretna Major Crimes Task Force, Kenner Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. John’s Parish Sheriff’s Office, Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, and New Orleans Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman from the Narcotics Unit is handling the prosecution.
