Robert J. "Bob" Troester U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma
Daniel Job, a 38-year-old resident of Del City, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for committing arson. The sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
The incident took place on July 27, 2024, when the Del City Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at a local restaurant. Upon arrival, they found and extinguished a small fire near one of the building's doors and detected the smell of gasoline. Surveillance footage revealed Job approaching the door where the fire started and placing something on the ground before it ignited.
Following this evidence, investigators executed a search warrant at Job's residence and found a backpack containing a hydration bladder filled with gasoline. Subsequently, on September 4, 2024, a federal Grand Jury indicted Job for arson.
Job pleaded guilty to the charges on December 17, 2024, admitting that he intentionally set fire to the restaurant.
At his sentencing on June 5, 2025, U.S. District Judge Patrick R. Wyrick imposed a sentence of five years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. Judge Wyrick emphasized the severity of deliberately setting fire to a business structure during his remarks.
The investigation involved efforts from several agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Del City Fire Department; and the Del City Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stan J. West.
