Tyler Dee Baker, a 33-year-old resident of McCurtain, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. This offense is punishable by up to ten years in prison. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma made the announcement.
According to the indictment, Baker was previously convicted of First Degree Rape in Oklahoma on May 7, 2010. He was required to register as a sex offender but failed to do so from November 2024 until February 19, 2025. During this period, he did not update his registration while entering, leaving, or residing in Indian country within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service. The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered.
A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Baker's sentence after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. Until sentencing, Baker will remain in custody under the supervision of the United States Marshals Service.
