Huntington man receives over eight-year sentence for drug distribution

Curtis Lavall Capers, a 36-year-old resident of Huntington, West Virginia, has been sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison for distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine. Following his prison term, Capers will also undergo three years of supervised release.

The case details reveal that on December 15, 2022, Capers sold the drugs to a confidential informant at a residence on 7th Avenue in Huntington. Capers acknowledged both the transaction and arranging it with the informant prior to the sale.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the sentencing and praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for their investigative efforts.

The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers. The prosecution was led by Assistant United States Attorneys Stephanie Taylor and Joseph F. Adams.
