National Farmers Union (NFU) President Rob Larew expressed approval of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) proposed Renewable Fuel Standard volume requirements. The proposal demonstrates a commitment to supporting domestic agriculture and clean fuels.
Larew stated, “We’re pleased the EPA is prioritizing American farmers and ranchers by raising biomass-based diesel volumes and focusing on domestic feedstocks." He emphasized that these Renewable Volume Obligations will create significant opportunities for U.S. producers to contribute to renewable energy goals while ensuring they benefit from renewable fuel production.
The NFU looks forward to collaborating with the administration as it finalizes these rules, aiming to expand opportunities for family farmers and ranchers.
