Meijer has announced a recall of certain packages of Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds due to the presence of undeclared cashews. The recall affects products sold in black stand-up pouches at Meijer stores across Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. These products have sell-by dates of May 7, 2026, or May 28, 2026. Additionally, the recall includes 8-count, 1.5-ounce multi-pack boxes with a sell-by date of May 5, 2026.

The issue was identified after a customer reported receiving the product containing dark chocolate-covered cashews not listed on the label. Meijer emphasizes that no illnesses related to this recall have been reported so far.

Individuals with allergies or severe sensitivities to cashews are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to any Meijer store for a full refund. For further inquiries about the recall, customers can contact Meijer at 800-543-3704 from 7 a.m.-1 a.m. EDT daily. Those concerned about their health should reach out to their primary care provider.

Meijer operates over 500 supercenters and other retail locations throughout the Midwest and is known for its one-stop shopping concept. The company employs more than 70,000 team members and contributes at least six percent of its profit annually to community strengthening initiatives.
