Florida man indicted on federal harassment charges involving antisemitic messages

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland has unsealed an indictment against Jackson Traylor, a 26-year-old from Dania Beach, Florida. He faces charges related to using a telecommunications device without disclosing his identity with the intent to abuse, threaten, or harass.

U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes announced the indictment alongside Acting Special Agent in Charge Amanda M. Koldjeski from the FBI's Baltimore Field Office.

Public records indicate that between July 9, 2024, and April 10, 2025, Traylor allegedly sent more than ten antisemitic and harassing messages to a Jewish individual originally from Maryland. The messages included statements such as “Go burn in an oven like your ancestors” and “Burn in a god damn oven . . . . Stupid jew.”

If found guilty, Traylor could face up to two years in federal prison. However, actual sentences are often less than the maximum penalties due to considerations by a federal district court judge who factors in U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory elements.

It is important to note that an indictment is not a determination of guilt; those charged are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in subsequent legal proceedings.

U.S. Attorney Hayes acknowledged the investigative work of the FBI and expressed gratitude towards Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Sarma for prosecuting this case.
