Clairton man sentenced to four years for federal narcotics violations

A Clairton, Pennsylvania resident has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for violating narcotics laws. Mark Cook, 58, received the sentence from United States District Judge William S. Stickman IV. Following his imprisonment, Cook will also serve a three-year term of supervised release.

The court was informed that between July 2022 and June 2023, Cook supplied cocaine and crack cocaine to co-defendants for resale in Pittsburgh's Hill District neighborhood. Before delivering the sentence, Judge Stickman noted the seriousness of Cook's actions and their impact on families and citizens in the area.

Assistant United States Attorney Katherine C. Jordan led the prosecution on behalf of the government. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti acknowledged the efforts of both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police in investigating and prosecuting Cook successfully.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation aimed at dismantling high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through a collaborative approach involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
