U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Gregory J. Coco, a 44-year-old business owner from Rochester, has pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Meredith A. Vacca. The charge could result in a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas M. Testani is handling the case. He explained that Coco owns Century Asphalt Maintenance, a driveway sealing company based in Rochester. Between 2017 and 2022, Coco received payments totaling $2,611,685.57 for services provided by his company. However, he did not report all of this income to his tax preparer, underreporting it by $1,704,556.57 and consequently failing to pay $456,683 to the Internal Revenue Service.
The investigation leading to the plea was conducted by the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations Division under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Harry Chavis.
Coco's sentencing is set for October 7, 2025, before Judge Vacca.
