Clinton J. Johnson U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma
U.S. District Judge John D. Russell has sentenced Nicholas Jarrod Weeden, 43, to 115 months in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon and assault by strangling in Indian Country. Following his imprisonment, Weeden will be subject to three years of supervised release.
Court documents reveal that the incident occurred in April 2024 when Weeden visited his ex-girlfriend's home. An argument ensued, during which Weeden strangled the victim, struck her head against a wall and door, and then used a wooden club to hit her over the head. The victim managed to escape and contacted emergency services.
Weeden is identified as a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and will remain in custody until he is transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
The case was investigated by the FBI and Tulsa Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stacey Todd and Melissa Weems leading the prosecution.
