Brockton man receives seven-year sentence for drug and gun trafficking

A Brockton man, Malcolm Desir, has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for his involvement in cocaine and firearms trafficking around the Boston area. U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young handed down the sentence, which includes three years of supervised release with the first year under home detention.

Desir, 33, pleaded guilty in February 2025 to several charges including distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, being a felon in possession of a firearm, firearms trafficking, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. His arrest occurred in November 2023 alongside co-conspirators Cordell Miller and Alan Robinson.

Miller was identified as a trafficker of firearms and ammunition within metro Boston. During an investigation starting in August 2023, he sold multiple firearms to a cooperating witness during controlled purchases and organized cocaine sales managed by Desir. In one instance, Desir sold a firearm to the witness that he had previously bought from Miller. A search at Desir's residence led to the recovery of over 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, prescription pills, distribution paraphernalia, and two illegal firearms.

Robinson received a ten-year prison sentence followed by five years of supervised release in April 2025. Miller pleaded guilty earlier this year and awaits sentencing on June 23, 2025.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Scott Riordan, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' Boston Division; and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department provided valuable assistance during the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke A. Goldworm is prosecuting the case.
