The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the arrest of Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, a criminal illegal alien, in Bloomington, Minnesota. Munoz-Guatemala was apprehended after dragging an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer 50 yards with his car while attempting to evade arrest.

The incident occurred during a traffic stop when Munoz-Guatemala refused to exit his vehicle. As he tried to flee, he put the car in drive while the ICE officer's arm was still inside the vehicle. The officer was hospitalized but is expected to recover fully.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala is a child sex offender and illegal alien from Mexico who attempted to evade law enforcement and dragged an ICE officer 50 yards down the street with his car. Thankfully, the officer is expected to make a full recovery.” She further criticized Governor Tim Walz for not taking action against such individuals living in Minnesota.

Munoz-Guatemala has been involved in violent crimes in the U.S. for nearly 15 years. His criminal record includes domestic assault and multiple driving offenses. He first came under ICE's radar in 2013 when they lodged a detainer on him.
