Honduran national sentenced for illegal re-entry into the US

A Honduran national, Hibis Turcio-Sanchez, aged 45, has been sentenced for re-entering the United States after being deported. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson on June 17, 2025.

Court documents revealed that Turcio-Sanchez had previously been deported on October 17, 2016. He was sentenced to time served by United States District Judge Susie Morgan.

Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson commended the efforts of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, and the Department of Homeland Security's Homeland Security Investigations in handling this case. Assistant United States Attorney Paul J. Hubbell from the General Crimes Unit led the prosecution.
