Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced a series of military nominations today, marking significant appointments within the Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, and Space Force. These nominations involve promotions to major general and brigadier general ranks across various commands.
Marine Corps Col. Christopher G. Tolar has been nominated for major general, with his new role as staff judge advocate to the Commandant of the Marine Corps at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Currently, he serves as command judge advocate at U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany.
Army Brig. Gen. John B. Hinson is set for promotion to major general while serving as commanding general of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command in Rock Island, Illinois.
Several Air Force officers are also nominated for promotion to major general: Brig. Gen. David M. Castaneda from Ninth Air Force in Southwest Asia; Brig. Gen. Michael P. Cruff from Headquarters U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon; Brig. Gen Aaron D Drake from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling; Brig Gen Leslie S Hadley from Hurlburt Field Florida; Brig Gen Jennie R Johnson from Headquarters U.S Airforce at Pentagon; Brig Gen Lori C Jones from Lackland Airforce Base Texas; Brig Gen Preston F McFarren from Robins Airforce Base Georgia; and several others currently serving in various capacities within their respective commands.
Space Force nominees include Brig Gens Robert J Hutt Anthony J Mastalir Brian D Sidari along with numerous other officers being elevated to brigadier generals who are presently stationed across different bases fulfilling key roles ranging between operations intelligence and personnel management among others
