The U.S. Senate has made progress in efforts to change the American education system. The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued a statement from Erika Donalds, Chair for Education Opportunity and AFPI’s Florida chapter, regarding this development.
"The Senate has taken a major step toward transforming American education," Donalds said. She highlighted that the Senate's version of the bill includes permanent tax credit scholarships, which she described as "the most significant federal commitment to school choice in our nation’s history."
Donalds acknowledged that while the process is not yet complete, the Senate's actions are "a powerful signal." She noted that with both the House and Senate working on reforms, they are "on the verge of something extraordinary."
She expressed gratitude to supporters in both chambers and praised former President Donald J. Trump for his leadership, calling him the "School Choice President." Donalds concluded by stating that once this policy is finalized, it will lead to a new era in American education where families have more control and children can succeed.
