Deangelo Lamont Tell, also known as "Lil D," from Huntington, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to a federal drug crime involving methamphetamine distribution. According to court documents and statements made in court, Tell sold approximately 27.34 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on January 31, 2023, near Marshall Avenue in Huntington. He admitted to arranging this transaction beforehand.
Tell also confessed to selling about 48.85 grams of methamphetamine on February 3, 2023, and facilitating another sale of approximately 55.75 grams on February 6, 2023. Both transactions were conducted with the same confidential informant in Huntington.
The sentencing for Tell is scheduled for October 6, 2025. He faces up to 20 years in prison along with at least three years of supervised release and a possible $1 million fine.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the plea and praised the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cabell County Sheriff's Office.
United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers presided over the hearing while Assistant United States Attorney Courtney L. Finney is handling the prosecution.
