Jeffrey Crosslin, a 41-year-old resident of Millington, Tennessee, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for the production of child pornography. The announcement was made by Interim U.S. Attorney Joseph C. Murphy, Jr. for the Western District of Tennessee.
Court documents revealed that in June, July, and August of 2024, Crosslin secretly photographed a twelve-year-old child at a store where he worked part-time. He captured over 550 images during this period, with approximately 30 being pornographic. The child noticed Crosslin taking photos in August and reported him to her father.
The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Munford Police Department and agents from the FBI’s Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force. They recovered surveillance footage showing Crosslin taking photographs and reviewed his phone to find all images taken that summer.
A federal grand jury indicted Crosslin on November 5, 2024, charging him with production and possession of child pornography under U.S.C. §2251(a) and §2252(a). He pled guilty to production charges on March 8, 2025. On June 27, United States Chief District Court Judge Sheryl H. Lipman sentenced him to 15 years' imprisonment followed by ten years of supervised release.
Interim U.S. Attorney Joseph C. Murphy emphasized the importance of protecting children from predators: “Safeguarding our children from predators is a top priority of this office.” He praised the victim's courage in coming forward and noted that the sentence serves as a warning to others who might harm children.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating resources across federal, state, and local levels to prosecute offenders and rescue victims.
Assistant United States Attorneys Lauren Delery and Lynn Crum prosecuted the case.
