A Mexican national, Antonio Quintana-Rodriguez, has pled guilty to illegally reentering the United States after being deported. The plea was entered before United States District Court Judge Michael P. Mills on June 26, 2025. Sentencing will occur at a later date.
Court documents reveal that Quintana-Rodriguez, aged 29, was removed from the U.S. by immigration authorities in 2013. He subsequently reentered the country and was apprehended following an arrest for statutory rape in Oxford, Mississippi. In May 2025, he pled guilty to this charge in the Circuit Court of Lafayette County.
"Those who illegally enter this country and prey on children must be held accountable for their violation of our laws," stated United States Attorney Clay Joyner. "We commend the work by the Oxford Police Department in their investigation of a sex offense against a child and we commend their working with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that this defendant will answer for every violation of law he has committed." Joyner also praised Third Circuit District Attorney Ben Creekmore’s Office for swiftly securing a guilty plea.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner of the Northern District of Mississippi and Homeland Security ASAC Matt Reidell.
The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security and the Oxford Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney John Herzog Jr. prosecuting.
This legal action is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aiming to address illegal immigration and combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs).
