U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Nashville, alongside the Metro Nashville Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, has apprehended Josue Hernandez Moxje. The 23-year-old Honduran national is connected to a double homicide case.
The incident occurred on April 28 near Percy Priest Lake and Lincoya Bay Apartments, where victims Amir Landan Wilkerson, 19, and Jaime Valdez-Garcia, 18, both from Alabaster, Alabama, were identified. Extensive investigations led to Hernandez being named as the prime suspect.
Hernandez entered the United States without inspection around 2013 or 2014. He was arrested on June 6 in Louisiana by HSI New Orleans with support from state and federal partners under a Tennessee arrest warrant.
With prior convictions for domestic violence with strangulation, fraud, and theft, Hernandez was extradited to Nashville on June 24. He is now held in custody by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
