On June 26, 2025, Joe Lewis, a resident of Hinds County, Mississippi, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted production of child pornography. The charges involve attempting to produce images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Court documents reveal that from February 2023 through December 2023, Lewis, aged 54, attempted to persuade minors to expose themselves during FaceTime calls. This conduct was intended for his live viewing and recording.
The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi and Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The investigation was conducted by the Jackson Police Department and the FBI.
Lewis is set to be sentenced on October 23, 2025. He faces a maximum penalty of thirty years in prison for each count. The sentence will be determined by a federal district judge after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other relevant factors.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Glenda R. Haynes.
